I love country pie

Today, in my strongest voice of recommendation, I command y'all to pick up the new collection DYLAN COUNTRY, which features recordings of His Bobness' songs performed by some of country's greatest (Cash, Jennings, Buck, Willie, Emmylou etc.). Although there are a couple songs I could do without, most of the disc is so eminently wonderful that it literally stunned me the first time I listened to it (this morning, as it were). Buck Owens' version of "Love Minus Zero/No Limit," on which Bakersfield Buck proves himself to be as emotive a vocalist as country has and Glen Campbell's "If Not For You" (as well as Waylon's classic version of "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right") are my current particular favorites, but the whole disc is unbelievable.

On the box right now: Brother Ali, THE CHAMPION EP, to be followed by, that's right, DYLAN COUNTRY>

Peace...

Random thoughts revisited

-Anybody besides me think that THE DAILY SHOW is the most subversive thing on television?
-"San Fransisco (Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair)" is great to sing in the shower.
-If George W. Bush still gets reelected after all this Iraq mess, he's as teflon as Reagan, maybe more.
-The NBA playoffs go on forever, as do the NHL playoffs. Luckily, though, it's baseball season.
-I love Pete Townshend.

On the box right now: Pete Townshend, BEST. Speak of the devil...

Peace...
