Masturdebation, Pt. 3

Final debate was probably a push, with a slight advantage to Kerry. So, the final tally on my end looks like this:

Round 1: Kerry by 10
Round 2: Kerry by 2
Round 3: Kerry by 1

Looks like our boy came up the winner overall. After Bush's monkey-man debacle in the first go-round, Kerry would've had to royally botch it to keep it from being a victory, but it's still nice to know that the Dems didn't self-destruct, as I'd feared they might.

On the box right now: Buddy Miller, UNIVERSAL UNITED HOUSE OF PRAYER. Somebody say "Amen"...

The mighty Mos

Mos Def's new album is really good, much better than Talib Kweli's most recent effort, which puts him one up in the Black Star derby...

Like the N.E.R.D. album from earlier this year, this record - called THE NEW DANGER - has got some great rock touches, in which Mos - with his band, Black Jack Johnson - truly melds rock with hip-hop in ways that recreate both genres. As a fan of cultural synergy of all kinds, I'm nothing but happy about this. Check out "Blue Black Jack," my current favorite track (which features guitar work from soul cult legend Shuggie Otis), for what I'm talking about.
