Don't the rhythm get tricky when the drummer get proud

Last night, I finally figured out how to add rhythm tracks on my digital 8-track machine. What this means is that I now can make rockers that truly rock aided by a relatively good (though obviously mechanical) simulation of about 50 different kit loops, from "rock" to "fusion," and three very mysterious sets called "others." This made my day, quite honestly, since I was sick of having to resort to handclaps and household items to create percussion on the demos I do.

The machine has "hip-hop" loops as well, so maybe it's time I rock it old school.

On the box right now: Mark Lanegan, BUBBLEGUM. Great record, totally snuck up on me...

Peace...

Two patriotic duties

First, go to http://michaelmoore.com to find out how to vote for FAHRENHEIT 9/11 for the People's Choice Award. I, for one, would love to see the faces of Bush-shitters everywhere when Michael Moore accepts such a mainstream film award.

Second, go to http://steveearle.net to watch his new video, for "Rich Man's War."

On the box right now: Earth, Wind and Fire, ESSENTIAL, Disc 1

96 hours

I finished my final rough draft for the semester today, which means that I'm pretty much free of any scholastic requirements until Thursday (when I'll get the first one back). Any ideas of how I should spend this temporary surge in free time?

On the box right now: Bettye Swann, BETTYE SWANN. More sweet Southern soul music from the label who previously brought us the great Candi Staton comp from earlier in the year.

Peace...
