Me gusta/no me gusta, Sabado 3/19/05Me gusta:
-The Ramones, both the documentary just out on DVD (END OF THE CENTURY), and records that watching the documentary sent me racing back to.
-The World's Greatest Lovers on TV last night.
-Jeff Chang's CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP, the best history of the hip-hop generation that's yet been written.
-The knowledge that, if all goes as planned, I'll be seeing Los Lobos and Steve Earle in the upcoming week.
No me gusta:
-High school athletic tournaments, specifically the packs of tourists who only congregate in about three different places: the Nitty Gritty, Steve and Barry's University Sportswear and the Memorial Union. I appreciate that they bring needed tax revenue to my community, but I never feel more like a townie than these few weekends.
-Snow, particularly from the second half of March onward.
-The presence of a few unwelcome faces in my dreams last night.
On the box right now: The Ramones, HEY HO LET'S GO: ANTHOLOGY, Disc 2.

Great romantics: Don Juan, Romeo, and...Today, I saw a copy of Maxim's BLENDER magazine, perhaps the most guilty pleasure, unhealthy-but-fun sugar rush of all entertainment magazines, and one of the articles advertised on the cover was: "Dating Tips from 50 Cent." For some reason, that struck me for a moment as the funniest thing I'd ever heard. I still find it rather humorous, as a matter of fact.
On the box right now: Los Lobos, LIVE AT THE FILLMORE.
